You are here: Home » Stay out of the Belly of the Beast

Obamacare, HIPPA, pre-existing conditions, deductibles, co-insurance, covered or not covered. These are all terms we associate with US health care (or should I say sick care).

Whether or not you have insurance, you owe it to yourself to spend some time watching the following video. It’s 1 hour and 12 minutes long, so if you’re like me, you won’t watch it all in one sitting. It starts out a little dry as Dr. McGuff explains the beginnings and reasons for insurance, but by the end, you’ll be a changed person.

The one thing I learned from this video is I’m going to do everything in my power to stay out of the belly of the beast, and you should too.

Belly Invitation

Needless to say that when I received the following invitation into the belly of the beast, I did take a few healthy steps…in the other direction!Belly Invite

If you’re having difficulty reading the image, they’re inviting me to:

  • Have my blood pressure checked
  • Have a colonoscopy
  • Have a mammogram
  • Have my cholesterol checked
  • Have a pap smear
  • Have the shingles vaccine

No thank you.  I don’t eat the standard American diet, so I choose not to partake of the standard American health care schedule.
